In the following article, we take a look at what it will be like to travel in 2023. We'll see new technologies that are making the world more accessible, and how those innovations have been made possible by one simple human quality: our desire for adventure.
Covid Basics
Covid-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified in
2019. It is similar to other coronaviruses, such as SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, but
it is more contagious and can cause more severe illness. As of June 2020, there
are over 7 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 worldwide, with over 400,000
deaths.
Social
Security Numbers
When it comes to travel, one of the most important things to
know is how to keep your personal information safe. That's why it's important
to know what to do with your social security number when you're planning a
trip.
Here are a few tips for keeping your social security number
safe when you're traveling:
- Don't carry your social security card with you. This is one of the most important things you can do to keep your social security number safe. If you lose your card or it's stolen, someone could use your social security number to steal your identity.
- Make sure you're using a secure internet connection when you're entering your social security number online. When you're booking travel or accessing online accounts, make sure you're using a secure Wi-Fi connection or a VPN so that your information is encrypted and secure.
Money
Assuming you have the means to do so, traveling the world
can be one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll ever have. It broadens your
horizons, exposes you to new cultures, and allows you to see natural beauty
that you may never have known existed.
But for many people, the thought of spend to
money. How will you afford it? What if something goes wrong?
- -Start saving as soon as possible: The sooner you start saving for your trip, the better. Try setting aside a fixed amount each month – even if it’s just $50 – and putting it into a dedicated savings account. Once you have a solid chunk of change saved up, you’ll feel more confident about taking the plunge and traveling for an extended period of time.
- Budget, budget, budget: Once you know where you want to go and how long you want to stay there, start researching estimated costs for things like accommodation, food, transportation, and activities. Add up all of these costs and then add on an extra 20-30% for unexpected expenses. This will give you a realistic idea of how much money you need to
Visa Requirements
In order to travel the world, you will need a valid passport
and a visa for each country you plan to visit. Visas can be obtained through
the embassy or consulate of the country you wish to visit.
When applying for a visa, you will need to submit your
passport, photographs, application form, and sometimes additional documents
such as proof of financial means or an invitation letter from someone in the
country you are visiting. The requirements vary by country, so it is important
to check with the embassy or consulate before applying for your visa.
If you are planning on traveling to multiple countries, it is
recommended that you apply for a multiple-entry visa which will allow you to
enter and exit each country multiple times during the validity period of the
visa.
Clothing and Footwear
Assuming you have the basic necessities like a passport and
travel insurance, there are really only a few other things you need in order to
travel the world:
1. Clothing and Footwear - Obviously, you'll need to pack
some clothes! But the great thing about travelling is that you can usually get
by with less than you think. A couple of weeks before your trip, make a list of
all the places you plan to go and what activities you'll be doing. Then, start
packing accordingly. Remember to pack for all weather conditions and to layer
your clothing so that you can easily adjust to temperature changes. And don't
forget comfortable walking shoes - they'll come in handy whether you're
exploring a new city or hiking through the mountains.
2. A Good Backpack - This is probably the most important item
on this list (after your passport, of course). A good backpack will make your
life so much easier as you travel from place to place. Look for one that's
comfortable to wear, has plenty of compartments and pockets for organizing your
things, and is made from durable material that will withstand a lot of wear and
tear.
3. A Few Basic Toiletries - Again, less is more when it comes
to travelling light. Just pack the essentials like shampoo, conditioner, soap,
toothpaste, etc. You can usually find these items at your destination if you
happen to run out.
4. Your Phone and Charger - These days
Packing Strategies
There are a few packing strategies that I swear by when
traveling the world. The first is to pack light. You really don’t need that
many clothes when you’re on the road. A couple of weeks’ worth of underwear,
socks, shirts, and pants should be more than enough. If you’re worried about
doing laundry while you travel, bring along a couple of mesh bags to wash your
clothes in.
The second packing strategy is to roll your clothes instead
of folding them. This will save a ton of space in your suitcase or backpack.
And, it will prevent your clothes from wrinkling too much.
The third packing strategy is to use packing cubes. They’re
awesome for organizing your clothes and keeping everything tidy in your
suitcase or backpack. Plus, they make it easy to find what you’re looking for
without having to dig through everything.
If you follow these packing strategies, you’ll be able to
travel the world with just a carry-on sized suitcase or backpack. Trust me,
it’s possible!
Travel Apps: Local Guides, TripAdvisor, HOPPING, Booking.com etc.
If you're looking for local guides, the best things to do in
each city, and reviews of hotels and restaurants, then you need to check out
these travel apps! From well-known sites like TripAdvisor and Booking.com, to
more specialized options like HOPPING (for museum lovers), there's an app for
everyone.
Local Guides: Google Maps and City mapper
Google Maps is a must-have for any traveler, whether you're
looking for directions or just want to explore your surroundings. The app also
offers a "local guides" feature, where users can share their tips and
recommendations for the best places to eat, drink, shop, and more. If you're
looking for a more comprehensive guide to city life, then download City mapper.
This app has everything from real-time public transit information to bike
sharing availability and even walking routes. Whether you're visiting a new
city or just trying to get around your own hometown.
TripAdvisor and Yelp
When it comes time to book a hotel or find a restaurant in your destination city, it's always helpful to consult some trusted review sources. That's where TripAdvisor and Yelp come in handy.
